Sanuk Lost City

Space: ABC Dbayeh

You have been walking for days in the dense humid rainforest of Siam, on the tracks of the historical trade posts of the ancient kingdoms of Sukhothai and Ayutthaya. But then your team stumbles on unchartered ruins. You check your advanced archeological map that is supposed to have it all. No, nothing on this one. How can this be as the area has been extensively explored. You make your way through the vegetation invaded ruins, the centuries old path leads to a temple. You push the weirdly well preserved door, excitedly everyone goes in... And it all went dark, very dark.

The dos
  • You need to arrive 5 minutes before the time of your booking. Being late will eat up from the time of your game. We do this as a courtesy to the next team who will play after you.
  • You do need to have minimal reading skills. The game is in English.
  • You are required to handle the room items with care. Any damage to the items will be charged to you.
  • The room is equipped with cameras to monitor at all time, your safety and track your progress. You can communicate with the Game Master at anytime.
  • Ask for hints when you feel you are stuck. Time is valuable and sometimes a small hint could be the difference between losing and winning.
the don'ts
  • You don’t need to use physical power on anything to solve it (such as unlocking the lock using power or moving large furniture, etc.)
  • You don’t have to move or touch anything marked with a red dot sticker. These are not part of game.
  • You don’t need to take with you your phone, camera or any other particular device. Allow yourself to be immersed in the game.
  • You cannot eat, drink or smoke inside the room. Lighting a lighter is also a big no go.
  • Don’t take it hard on yourself if you lose. If you don't know how to lose you'll never know how to win.

scoring system
  • You can ask for as many hints as you want. However the more hints you take, the lower your score will be.
  • You can also opt to put a cap on the number of hints you can get before you start the game. This will make your game more challenging.
  • We use a somehow complex formula to compute a team’s score. This is based on 3 parameters:
    • Time to solve the room
    • Number of hints taken
    • Number of players
  • In simple words,
    • If 2 teams escaped in 55 minutes, the one with less hints is the better team.
    • If 2 teams escaped in 55 minutes, and using 4 hints each, the one with less players is the better team.
FAQs
We use the power of the so called Cosmos when the earth is aligned with the center of the Andromeda constellation to guess the questions that are bugging your mind. Normal people call it FAQs.
  • What is an escape room?

Escape the room is an adventurous game that offers a great team-building experience, where groups of people (friends, families, or co-workers) work together, interact with objects or clues, solve ciphers, riddles, and search for hidden messages to finally escape the room in the allotted time.

  • What is an online escape room?

The online experience of an escape room is a challenge that includes an avatar instead of a game master. With a head camera, the avatar acts as your eyes, ears and hands. An inventory dashboard is available to keep track of clues you unveil throughout the game.

  • Is there any age limit?

Unfortunately, yes. Players must be at least 16 years old, due to the complexity of the content. People younger than that can go in accompanied by older people, as long as there is at least a 1:1 ratio of adult:child. We do not accommodate children under 11 years old in the escape room.

  • Will the room be actually locked?

No. You can at any time open all doors with a lit EXIT sign on and get out. However, we strongly recommend that you do not get out, unless there is a compelling reason to do so. Multiple ins and outs are not permitted.

  • What should you wear?

There's no dress code. Wear whatever you feel comfortable in. However we recommend that you wear something that can easily be put off if you feel warm. Overthinking might make you overheated, and you will overthink mwahaha! [evil laugh]

  • Can someone with claustrophobia play?

The room does not have any window but is big enough to feel like a standard size bedroom. However, there will be extensions that will be of smaller size. You can choose not to enter these if you feel you cannot handle a smaller space.

  • Can a pregnant woman play?

The room does not need any physical challenges or fast motion. There is also nothing scary and nothing that might take you by surprise. The maximum you could find is a couple of non-moving décor pieces you might find a bit on the scary side.

  • What time do you need to arrive?

Your entire team should arrive 5 minutes earlier before your booked time. The brief will start exactly at your booking time and we need 15 minutes to get you all well informed, pumped up and ready for the challenge. Getting late means that time will be subtracted from your allocated spot, as a courtesy to the next team in line. You also need 10 to 15 minutes after the game: picture taking and talking about your experience makes it a happy ending. All in all, the thing will last from 90 to a 100 minutes.

  • More details about the location?

You can’t get lost. We are right in the middle of the renowned ABC Dbayeh shopping mall. We are located in B1’s central atrium. this is the huge open space you can look at when you are going up and down the central escalators. The mall has a huge parking place, one thing less to worry about. Locate Us

  • Can someone bring food or drinks into the game?

We ask that no food or drinks is taken into the game room. You can ask for water before the game begins, and you will be asked to visit the toilet too. This ensures that you have everything for an optimal immersive experience.

  • Language?

The game is in English. You do need minimal English reading and understanding skills to be able to play the game. For hints, you can chose to be guided with English, French, Lebanese or a free mixture of all of them, Lebanese style. All our game masters speak English. French coming soon.
